The Uncanny Experience has revealed their programming of panels and classes for their inaugural event. Highlights include an appearance by X-Men film actor Daniel Cudmore who famously portrayed the character Colossus in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Previously announced guests such as Chris Claremont, the cast and creatives of X-Men: The Animated Series, Chris Sims, Nathan Szerdy, and more will give talks on their work in the X-Men Universe. Included in the announcement are the immersive classes attendees can take to mold themselves into mutant students of Xavier Institute. Classes include Intergalactic Social Studies of the Shi’ar Empire, Getting Hellfire Gala Ready, A History of X-Villainy, Mindful Meditation with Psylocke, Professor Logan’s Phys-Ed, and Mutant History 101 with Professor Claremont. It all goes down on September 16th & 17th in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Some ticket levels are still available.

SATURDAY – SEPTEMBER 16TH
10:45am – Opening Remarks
Hear from the creators of The Uncanny Experience as they kick-off the weekend-long event. Producers Chandler Poling, Chris Riley, and Dylan Carter will launch into details about the weekend, what to expect, how to make the most of your experience, and usher in the first day’s programming. 11:00am – Creating X-Men: The Animated Series
Listen in as the creators of the beloved 1992 animated series, Larry Houston, Eric Lewald, & Julia Lewald, discuss how the show was made, what it took to get it off the ground, and how they steered the extremely popular show to reach its level of popularity in the hay day of Saturday Morning Cartoons. (LECTURE HALL – 2nd Floor)
11:00am – Cosplay Modeling
Cosplay artist Jordan Blaza Olsen (aka @thegirlwithagreatsmile) will lead a workshop on how to get the best out of your cosplay photoshoots. You’ve done the work. You’ve created the cosplay. Now learn how to capture it best so you can show off all you’ve accomplished! (CLASSROOM – 3rd Floor)
12:00pm – A History of X-Villainy
Marvel Comics writer Chris Sims presents a class on the baddies in X-Men History focusing on the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Magneto’s journey, the role of vampires in X-Men lore, and more. (CLASSROOM – 3rd Floor)
1:00pm – Mutant History 101
Professor Chris Claremont guides audiences through the history of mutantkind and how they developed as a community and later formed the team we know them for – The X-Men. (LECTURE HALL – 2nd Floor)
1:00pm – Uncanny Film Club
Filmmakers love the X-Men! Take a load off and watch some of the top fan films in the X-Men Universe. Support these artists by learning about their films and make sure to give them some love on social media. (CLASSROOM – 3rd Floor)
1:00pm – Brotherhood of Evil Mutants Photo Shoot
All X-Villains are invited to meet on the front lawn of Xavier’s Institute for a group photo. (FRONT LAWN)
1:30pm – Lunchtime Picnic
Students and Faculty alike are invited to gather on the front lawn for a picnic with your peers. Bring your own food and beverage and spread out on our Uncanny blankets in the grass while we socialize, nosh, and listen to music. (FRONT LAWN)
2:00pm – Giving Voice to Your Favorite Superhero
Voice actors Cal Dodd (Wolverine), Lenore Zann (Rogue), and Alyson Court (Jubilee) dive into the workings of voicing the original cast of X-Men: The Animated Series. Learn how they discovered the tone and timbre of each of their characters, the direction they received from above, and how they landed their roles. Moderated by Chad Anderson. (LECTURE HALL – 2nd Floor)
2:00pm – Intergalactic Social Studies of the Shi’ar Empire
Justin Wilder (co-host of The X-Wife Podcast) leads a conversation on the various alien races that interact with the X-Men throughout history. From the Shi’ar to the Brood, you will learn about the dynamic of these societies and how to deal with them should you ever encounter them in the field. (CLASSROOM – 3rd Floor)
3:00pm – Spotlight on Nathan Szerdy, hosted by Unknown Comics
Darren Hutchinson of Unknown Comics leads a discussion with cover artist Nathan Szerdy about his journey to becoming an artist for both Marvel and DC Comics, plus their ongoing working relationship through Unknown Comics and how artists art selected for variant issues and the process of getting a variant printed. (LECTURE HALL – 2nd Floor)
3:00pm – Silver Age X-Men
Host of Graymalkin Lane, Chad Anderson, guides a class on the Silver Age of the X-Men. From their not-so humble beginning in Westchester Country, what was life like in the X-Mansion back in those days? What enemies did they encounter? How many times did Professor Xavier fake his own death? Learn all this and more in this engagement seminar. (CLASSROOM – 3rd Floor)
3:00pm – Physical Education with Professor Logan
Get on your feet and ready for battle as Professor Logan (@dorksidefitness) guides students on movement techniques, balance, and strength. This class is meant for students of all levels of fitness to enjoy and experience. (FRONT LAWN)

Join the conclave of queer comic fans – Homo Superior Podcast – as they host their astonishing X-Gaymes. (LECTURE HALL – 2nd Floor)
4:00pm – Building the Juggernaut: Large Scale Cosplay Tips
You’ve seen him on social media – it’s impossible to miss him! Cosplayer Hummin_H2 is known for his large-scale builds of The Juggernaut, Sentinel, Optimus Prime, and more. This class will focus on how he created The Juggernaut and will give useful information about how to construct these massive pieces and the steps needed to plan out a big cosplay build. (CLASSROOM – 3rd Floor)
4:00pm – Mindful Meditation
Relax your mind and refocus your energy after your first day at Xavier’s. Psychic expert “Phoenix” will guide students in a restorative meditation session outdoors and grounded with the Earth. Telepathic support will be facilitated by Psylocke (@suzukichan_cosplay). (FRONT LAWN)

The time has come to celebrate your achievements, congratulate your fellow classmates, and look ahead to the future. Professor Chris Claremont will lead closing remarks to reflect on our time in Xavier Institute. You are invited to parade on stage in front of your peers and receive a signed Mutant Diploma from Professor Claremont. Stay for a group class photo at the very end before you head off to pursue your destiny. (LECTURE HALL – 2nd Floor)
