DSTLRY’s ‘The Devil’s Cut’ sells out at distribution level

You better get to your LCS and buy DSTLRY’s ‘The Devil’s Cut’ as no reprints are planned in this format.

Press Release

DSTLRY announced today their opening foray anthology one-shot The Devil’s Cut has sold out at the distributor level. The 88-page extra-sized issue will never be reprinted in this format again, with over 50,000 copies ordered. Given it was in our top two comics of the week on the AIPT Comics podcast, and our reviewer loved it too, it’s no surprise.

“It’s incredible to see so many fans and retailers supporting our launch with such genuine excitement and enthusiasm for both The Devil’s Cut and what’s to come,” said DSTLRY co-founders David Steinberger and Chip Mosher in a joint statement. “We’re deeply touched by the level of interest in an independent, creator-owned publisher, so much of which is due to our legendary creator lineup, and we promise that we will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of creators, retailers, and fans to continue—and exceed—the high bar this sets.”

Eight of the 11 stories will spin off into their own series, with Jock kicking things off on October 25 with GONE #1, a sci-fi adventure spinning out of his The Devil’s Cut entry “The Stowaway.” Becky Cloonan and Tula Lotay follow in November with their newly announced erotic folk-horror nightmare Somna, with each of the fan-favorite creators contributing both writing and art as they did in their The Devil’s Cut offering, “What Blighted Flame Burns in Thee?”
