We have a pair of foreign series and a modern mythological tale for our Channel Surfing TV picks this week. Fantasy and the real world collide in Dragons of Wonderhatch. Rick Riordan’s beloved book series receives a television adaptation in Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Then, something evil lurks in the basement in Gyeongseong Creature.

The Fate of Two Worlds

In Dragons of Wonderhatch, Nagi is a dreamer who has problems fitting in at school. Elsewhere, Tyme is from the distant land of Upananta where people and dragons work closely together. One day, Tyme crosses over into Nagi’s world searching for a missing hero. The pair realize they must work together in order to save both their realms from a horrible fate.

The fantasy adventure series blends elements of live-action with anime with each representing the real world and Upananta respectively. With the hybrid approach, Kentaro Hagiwara directs the live-action parts while Takashi Otsuka directing the anime parts.

Dragons of Wonderhatch premieres Wednesday, December 20, on Hulu.

Preventing a War Between the Gods
