Skybound has launched a new Kickstarter-exclusive campaign for a new edition of Daniel Warren Johnson’s Extremity, the Extremity: Signature Edition. The campaign is live on Kickstarter now. The Kickstarter offers two books: The core 256-page book that presents all 12 issues of the comic book in 12” x 17” format, and The Art of Extremity, a 128-page book that presents a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Extremity, sized at 8.25” x 11.75”.
“I wanted to prove to the world just how awesome I could make comics with Extremity,” said Daniel Warren Johnson. “It was my first big book that I was writing and drawing, and I put every inch of myself towards making it the best I possibly could. I’m still so proud of it and to see it in this new format has been an absolute joy. These images are honest and raw, with all the white out, messy pencil lines, and not quite perfect ink strokes for the world to take in. What an honor!”
Readers will be treated to Johnson’s unlettered line art at actual board size (12” x 17” versus the traditional comics size of 6” x 10”), bringing Extremity to life in an oversized, eye-popping format. There are also stretch goals and campaign-exclusive products to be announced through the close of the campaign, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 12:00 PM PT.
