Stories about dystopian futures have been popular since the earliest days of horror and science fiction. As the world gets crazier and transforms into stranger than fiction territory, they have added impact. History of Evil is the latest in a series of films to take on the (real) possibility of America’s bleak future.
Set in 2045, the movie takes place in a United States that is now controlled by a theocratic police state. A member of The Resistance has broken out of political prison and is on the run with her husband Paul and daughter Daria. The rundown house the three are hidden in harbors dark secrets that begin to threaten all of them.
History of Evil comes to DVD June 25th. Tense and dark, and too close to home, the film is a must-watch for fans of dystopian horror and haunted houses movies.
