Everything different in Red Band ‘Blood Hunt’ #5

We check out the Red Band ‘Blood Hunt’ #5 and pick out the differences from the regular edition.

If you’re wondering what’s different in Red Band Blood Hunt #5, we’ve got you covered. The last issue of the event and final explicit content version of Blood Hunt is here, and it’s in line with previous additions with additional gore and violence.

By any indication, the highly successful Red Band editions, which have had multiple printings, will continue for some time. Next up is Wolverine: Revenge, which will sport Red Band editions as well.

Be sure to check out our coverage of past Red Band issues below.

So, what’s different in the Red Band Blood Hunt #5?

Slightly different from the first issue of the Red Band edition, Blood Hunt #5 doesn’t have panels with similar-looking art with new overlayed violence. Instead, there are three additional pages: one double-page splash and another full-page splash.

The double-page splash offers extra violence from Bloodcoven as they tear through Moon Knight drones. The color is great, with a fabulous shot of one of the Bloodcoven gnawing at a head.

The full-page splash offers up a little more violence from a previous scene. It’s more like an extension as a key character gets fully pierced.

Ultimately, these new pages feel like extensions of scenes rather than more gore for gore’s sake. Previous issues did have more violence to give context on a global scale and thus had more purpose. It’s also a bummer they didn’t do more brand-new art sprinkled throughout.

Either way, though, it’s a neat version of a cool comic, and I don’t see Red Band going away anytime soon.
