Marvel Comics has a killer idea with Red Band editions of comics, as we’ve seen it help boost sales and get fans excited for Blood Hunt. It has to be a success by the fact that both Wolverine and Blade are getting Red Band editions later this year. But how different are they really? So far, a decent amount, which is good since that means these aren’t just cash grabs.

So, what’s different in Blood Hunt #4? Surprisingly, the new and gory pages aren’t as spread out in the penultimate issue but come by way of two double-page splashes. They are entirely new, with new captions and/or dialogue not appearing in the regular edition.
The first involves a backstory of the main villain and their time living in Atlantis. It’s a dark scene with bodies hanging from the ceiling. Aside from the bodies, most of the art would easily be passable in a regular edition, but it’s nice that folks get something extra with the Red Band edition.
The second double-page splash is an extra dose of Moon Knight action. It appears after the Moon Knights are seen dashing down onto the vampires in a full-page splash. It’s a pretty awesome display of the Khonsu’s power as they cut through vampires in Times Square.
