Courtesy of Heavy Metal Magazine, AIPT can share an exclusive preview from the first issue, out in comic shops starting April 30 (via Diamond), May 7 (via Lunar), and global newsstands starting May 13. Heavy Metal Magazine has been on hiatus for a few years now, but appears to be back better than ever starting this week.
The new launch of Heavy Metal is largely due to a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, which had more than 10,000 pledges and over $1 million in pre-order sales from crowdfunding and retail sales.
Going forward, Heavy Metal will be published 4 times per year on a quarterly schedule, potentially increasing frequency based on fan response and sales.

- Heavy Metal is distributed by Diamond Comic Distributors, Lunar Distribution, Universal Distribution, Southern Hobby, ACD Distribution, and Bud Plant, and— alongside comic shops—will be available in select gaming and TTRPG shops for the first time ever
- The magazine also returns to US newsstands, along with newly expanded distribution to newstands in Canada, the UK, Australia, and many other countries worldwide.

- Issue #1 is 232 pages as a result of reaching Kickstarter goals; future issues will be 200+ pages
- Both issue #1 and future issues feature a great mix of returning, legacy Heavy Metal talent and creators who will be brand-new to audiences, particularly in the American market
