The iconic Hanna-Barbera heroes are flying back into action! This September, The Blue Falcon & Dynomutt make their long-awaited return in a brand-new comic book series from Dynamite Entertainment in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.
Radley Crown—brilliant inventor and high-society art collector—has it all, including a penthouse above Big City and his loyal dog by his side. But when a violent gang turns their lives upside down, everything changes. In the wake of tragedy, Radley uses his tech genius to transform both himself and his canine companion into the ultimate crime-fighting duo: Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, Dog Wonder.
The new series is written by fan-favorite Jimmy Palmiotti (Harley Quinn, Jonah Hex), who grew up loving the classic cartoon. Joining him is artist Pasquale Qualano (Dejah Thoris, DC vs. Vampires), bringing a fresh, modern edge to the pair’s heroic adventures. This new take dives deeper into their bond and origin, not as a simple reboot, but as a darker, more emotionally grounded story of resilience and revenge.
“This isn’t just a superhero origin story,” Palmiotti said. “It’s about the connection between a man and his dog during a life-changing event. I’m keeping it fun—well, my kind of fun. It’s definitely darker than you might expect, but it still feels true to who these characters are, just in an updated world.”
The debut issue will also feature an exciting lineup of variant covers from top artist,s including Lucio Parrillo, Joseph Michael Linsner, Francesco Mattina, and Amanda Conner—Palmiotti’s longtime creative and real-life partner.
The Blue Falcon & Dynomutt #1 will appear in the July 2025 Previews catalog from Diamond Comic Distributors and will hit comic shops in September 2025. Fans are encouraged to preorder through their local comic shops to make sure they don’t miss out.
