PANICK Entertainment has unveiled a new incentive cover for T.A.M.A. #1, featuring art by Tony Fleecs, the co-creator behind Stray Dogs and FERAL. The debut issue is set to arrive in comic shops on August 6, 2025 and AIPT has the exclusive look at the covers.
Founded by a team of comics and entertainment industry veterans, PANICK is looking to challenge the norms of horror storytelling with bold, genre-bending books. T.A.M.A. is one of the flagship titles in their first publishing slate and is co-written by PANICK founders Adam Schlagman (Flashpoint: Abin Sur, Batman: The Brave & the Bold) and Doug Pasko (The Outpost, Mythica), with art by Daniel HDR (Masters of the Universe).
The story centers on a grieving teen named Kit who finds an old-school virtual pet system and bonds with a mysterious creature called Tama. But when bizarre deaths begin happening around him, Kit suspects his digital companion may have a terrifying connection to the real world. Mixing nostalgic tech with psychological horror, T.A.M.A. explores the dark side of forgotten childhood attachments.
The new 1:10 retailer incentive cover by Tony Fleecs taps into 1990s Game Boy and Pokémon nostalgia—an intentional nod to co-creator Schlagman’s lifelong love of the franchise. “Pokémon was a huge part of my childhood, and now I get to share it with my kid,” Schlagman said. “This cover felt like the perfect tribute.”
Fleecs, no stranger to balancing creepy and cute, was a natural fit. “They wanted something that was both adorable and unsettling,” Fleecs said. “That’s right in my wheelhouse.”
The incentive cover will be available through Diamond, Lunar’s MASSIVE INDIES section, and Universal Distribution, alongside the main cover by Descender artist Dustin Nguyễn. T.A.M.A. #1 is the first issue in a planned six-issue run. PANICK’s two other 2025 releases—Black Diamond and Savager—are expected to be announced soon.
