One of Stephen King’s most iconic novels, IT, is getting a deluxe new treatment courtesy of The Folio Society. Known for their beautifully crafted illustrated editions, the independent publisher will release a limited edition of just 500 copies of It, featuring haunting new artwork, a luxurious design, and a heartfelt introduction by Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.
The edition includes 11 black-and-white and 6 color double-page illustrations by award-winning artist Jim Burns, all carefully curated to evoke the eerie atmosphere of King’s 1986 horror masterpiece. Designer David Curtis handled the binding, endpapers, and clamshell box, which is covered in cloth and includes a printed lining and even instructions for folding your own paper boat—an homage to Georgie’s doomed journey into the sewers.
Quarter-bound in leather with printed cloth sides and printed page edges, this collector’s edition has been personally approved by Stephen King, and features signatures from Del Toro, Burns, and Curtis.
In his introduction, Del Toro writes, “IT speaks of the struggle that never ends… cosmic dread that keeps changing shape. It struck great fear in me — and slowly, a fragile kind of bravery.”
Folio Society Head of Editorial James Rose praised the edition as a celebration of King’s enduring horror legacy: “IT remains essential for any serious fan of the genre… a story that has grown bigger than itself and infuses so much of pop culture today.”
The Folio Society edition of IT will be available for £590 / $825 starting July 15, 2025, at 4 PM UK / 11 AM EST / 8 AM PT, exclusively at:
