This October, Marvel Comics is teaming up with Gargoyles, the fan-favorite ‘90s Disney animated series, for the first time ever in Fantastic Four/Gargoyles #1, a brand-new one-shot written by Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman with art by Enid Balám. Gargoyles fans will note that the ongoing series in that universe has continued over at Dynamite Entertainment.
The crossover brings together Marvel’s First Family and the Manhattan Clan as they join forces to stop the villain Diablo, who’s hunting down the Gargoyles to unlock the secret to immortality. But Goliath and his crew aren’t going down without a fight—and they’ll have help from the Fantastic Four, Tony Stark, and even Marvel’s own Gargoyle, Isaac Christians. Expect action, team-ups, and a hilarious mustache moment between Stark and Gargoyles antagonist David Xanatos.
In a fun twist, Dynamite Entertainment—home to the current Gargoyles comic series—will also release their own Gargoyles/Fantastic Four one-shot set in the same continuity, making October a huge month for fans of both franchises.
Weisman shared his excitement, saying the crossover feels like a natural fit: “These two sets of heroes, both operating out of Midtown Manhattan—one from the Baxter Building and one from the Eyrie Building—just have so much in common.”
Featuring a main cover by Taurin Clarke and variants from Gabriele Dell’Otto, Peach Momoko, and Luciano Vecchio, Fantastic Four/Gargoyles #1 is available to preorder now.
