Skybound and Image Comics have just announced Super Creepshow Special #1, a brand-new one-shot expanding their Eisner-nominated Creepshow anthology series, based on Greg Nicotero’s hit Shudder TV show. Launching October 8, 2025, this special brings together horror and superheroes in twisted new ways.
The issue features three chilling tales by some of comics’ top talent. Dan Watters and Carmine Di Giandomenico open with a story about a superhero’s funeral that spirals into something far darker. Ryan Stegman and Riley Rossmo introduce the Grave Ghost, a caped crusader investigating his own murder. And Ed Brisson and Andrei Bressan deliver a terrifying twist on the super-soldier formula when a dangerous individual is injected with powers they shouldn’t have.
Executive Editor Ben Abernathy called the mashup of horror and heroics “a dream come true,” promising that the creative team brought their “uncanny A-game.”
Super Creepshow Special #1 will be available with a main cover by Pye Parr and variants by Di Giandomenico and Rossmo. It arrives just ahead of Creepshow Volume 4, which begins monthly in September and features creators like Jeremy Adams, Eduardo Risso, Rosie Knight & Oliver Ono, Rachel Pinnelas, Gabriel Walta, Sina Grace, and more.
Previous volumes of Creepshow are also available in both trade paperback and deluxe hardcover formats, showcasing work from top names like Garth Ennis, Becky Cloonan, Chip Zdarsky, and Jorge Fornés.
Fans of horror, heroes, and everything in between won’t want to miss this special issue when it lands in comic shops and digital platforms this October.
