San Diego Comic-Con 2025 lit up with mutant energy as Marvel’s X-Men panel (Thursday, 7/24, 1:45 PM-2:45 PM PT) dove deeper into the Age of Revelation timeline, revealing a stunning slate of second issues across the expansive new X-line. From demonic showdowns and undead threats to family betrayals and guerrilla resistance, the post-Revelation world is only getting more dangerous and more exciting.
Deemed worthy as the one true heir of Apocalypse, the world’s end truly begins when is Doug Ramsey is invited to join the X-Men. The story proper, then, takes place 10 years later, as Ramsey’s “twisted vision of survival of the fittest creates a world where only mutants are fit to survive,” per a press release. With the rest of the planet fully destroyed by the X-Virus, the Choristers now oversee what’s left in the utopia known as the Revelation Territories. Each new title, then, presents cracks in Ramsey’s awful new world order as your faves “stir the flames of rebellion.” Whatever happens, though, Age of Revelation will have truly massive ramifications for the entire Marvel Universe.
Whether it’s Juggernaut as a demon knight, Sabretooth hunting her own family, or Storm and Gambit’s marriage on the brink, each title pushes classic characters into bold, genre-bending directions. With heavy hitters like Jed MacKay, Gail Simone, Eve L. Ewing, Stephanie Phillips, and Jonathan Hickman (among other creators) leading the charge, this fractured future is proving there’s no such thing as a “typical” X-book anymore.
