Image Comics has announced that the full run of Friday, the acclaimed mystery-horror comic by Ed Brubaker, Marcos Martín, and Muntsa Vicente, will be collected in a deluxe hardcover edition this November. Originally released through Panel Syndicate, the nine-issue series blends supernatural horror with coming-of-age drama and hardboiled mystery, earning both Eisner and Harvey Awards.
The Friday Deluxe Edition hardcover gathers all nine issues of the series along with behind-the-scenes extras, making it the definitive version of the story. Fans can look forward to a genre mashup that fuses the moody atmosphere of Dashiell Hammett, the nostalgic teen vibes of a John Hughes film, and the chilling suspense of I Know What You Did Last Summer, with a Lovecraftian twist.
At the heart of the story is Friday Fitzhugh, a once-famous teen detective who returns home from college only to be pulled back into old mysteries alongside her former partner, Lancelot Jones. But what begins as a nostalgic reunion quickly unravels into something darker lurking beneath the surface of their quiet New England town.
Friday is a haunting and emotional tale about friendship, growing apart, and the secrets hiding in the places we think we know best.
The Friday Deluxe Edition (ISBN: 978-1534331600, Lunar Code: 0725IM453) arrives in comic shops on Wednesday, November 12, and hits bookstores like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Waterstones on Tuesday, November 25.
