Fixed is a recently released adult animated film following the one-night adventure of a dog about to be neutered and his friends. As mentioned in our review, the feature heavily leans into the adult nature. Recently, we interviewed cast members Adam DeVine, Beck Bennett, and River Gallo about their thoughts and experiences.
In a movie filled with over the top moments, one shocking scene stood out amongst the three. Gallo said, “I mean just the fact that there was a dog whorehouse was for sure…I was like that’s f*cking dope. I had never seen that before.”
Bennett agreed with his costar’s assessment stating, “I think that stood out to me as well because there was so much there. There are a lot of individual moments and incidences that happen. But that whole setting I was curious about.”

The dog whorehouse of Fixed is actually the place we first meet Gallo’s character. They play a Dobermann named Frankie who strikes a relationship with a beagle named Lucky. The subplot is one of the more adorable aspects of the film. Gallo provided some insight on the couple.
“Yeah, I literally just saw the movie and because we had recorded three, four years ago, I kind of remember that my character kind of instills this message of acceptance,” they shared. “It gets for a second, it gets sentimental and really beautiful. I think our little romance, our budding romance from the movie is such a charming and endearing part of a greater world of just filth that is incredible. Filth and love are okay together in one place.”
The Frankie and Lucky romance is one example of Genndy Tartakovsky’s ability as a filmmaker to balance different emotions and tones in Fixed. DeVine added, “I think Genndy does a great job of having those really emotional scenes but then you’ll just see some big swinging nuts clear the frame and it brings you right back out.”
Fixed is on currently on Netflix.
