Marvel is giving Wiccan his long-awaited solo spotlight this December with Wiccan: Witches’ Road, a five-issue limited series from writer Wyatt Kennedy (X-Men: The Wedding Special) and artist Andy Pereira, making his Marvel Comics debut.
First introduced in Young Avengers, Wiccan has become one of Marvel’s most celebrated next-generation heroes. Following his live-action appearance in Agatha All Along, the character now embarks on a dark, mystical journey that pushes his powers—and his legacy—to their limits. The story picks up after Wiccan and Hulkling’s recent role in Jonathan Hickman’s Imperial, with Hulkling gravely injured and Wiccan forced onto the perilous Witches’ Road. Along the way, he’ll encounter a terrifying new foe, an unexpected ally, and revelations that could reshape the magical order of the Marvel Universe.
“This series takes Billy in a completely unexpected direction,” Kennedy teased. “We’re introducing a new villain, a surprising ally, and really exploring what it means for him to hold the mantle of Wiccan—not just as part of one of Marvel’s best couples, but as a hero in his own right.”
For Pereira, the project is a dream come true. “Drawing for Marvel is living out a childhood dream of mine,” he said, thanking his mentors, friends, and family for helping him reach this milestone. “I’m thrilled that my debut is also Wiccan’s debut as a solo star, and our whole team is pouring everything into making it something special.”
Wiccan: Witches’ Road #1 will feature main covers by Lucas Werneck, with variants by Russell Dauterman, Luciano Vecchio, and more. Fans can preorder the debut issue at their local comic shop ahead of its December release.
