Skybound and Image Comics, working in collaboration with Hasbro, have revealed an exciting new chapter for their Eisner Award-winning Transformers series. Writer Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead, Void Rivals) teams up with superstar artist Dan Mora (Justice League Unlimited, Superman) for Transformers #25, an oversized issue arriving October 8, 2025. Daniel Warren Johnson, with Jorge Corona and Mike Spicer, just wrapped up their story arc this week with Transformers #24.
This milestone issue marks the series’ second anniversary and promises to be a perfect jumping-on point for new readers. Current series colorist Mike Spicer (Stillwater, Murder Falcon) and letterer Rus Wooton (G.I. JOE, Void Rivals) continue their stellar contributions, while Jorge Corona (Ain’t No Grave) joins Kirkman to deliver a special backup story spotlighting the uncertain future of the Decepticons.
A New Era for the Energon Universe
With #25, the stakes for the Autobots and Decepticons reach an all-new level. Optimus Prime and his allies face threats both cosmic and deeply personal, with Earth’s future hanging in the balance. The preview teases Prime’s next challenge hitting closer to home than ever, while questions about the Decepticons’ fate loom large.
As the cornerstone of the Energon Universe, Transformers continues to build on the historic Skybound/Hasbro collaboration that also encompasses Void Rivals and G.I. JOE. Together, these titles form a connected comic book universe blending some of pop culture’s most iconic franchises.
