Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have revealed new details on the highly anticipated Ben 10 comic book series, set to launch this February, and for the first time ever, the franchise’s original creators are writing the adventures themselves.
The Man of Action Entertainment team, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle, all started in comics before going on to shape pop culture through animation, television, and film. They’ve worked on everything from Superman and Spider-Man to creating Big Hero 6. Now, two decades after first introducing Ben Tennyson to the world, they’re returning to their roots to reimagine him for comics.
Joe Casey will kick off the series alongside artist Robert Carey (Outsiders, James Bond), with other MOA partners taking turns on scripts for future arcs. The goal? A bigger, bolder Ben 10 built for comics’ unlimited canvas — mixing action, surrealism, humor, and heart.
“Ben 10 is obviously very close to our hearts, and has been for the last twenty years,” Casey said. “So we’re psyched to finally present a vision of Ben and his mythology in the manner and format that we’ve always wanted to see. This is basically a straight-up superhero comic that’s going to compete with every major series out there. This is Ultimate or Absolute Ben 10. We guarantee, this is the best that Ben 10 has ever been.”
The first issue will retell and modernize Ben’s origin, including his first encounter with the Omnitrix, while also reshaping classic villains, beloved characters like Gwen and Grandpa Max, and the alien transformations that made the show a hit. The series promises to reward longtime fans with callbacks and continuity nods while also offering a perfect entry point for new readers.
Further details on covers, arcs, and the official release date will be revealed soon.
