Duke meets Optimus Prime?! G.I. Joe triggers the biggest Energon Universe crossover yet

G.I. JOE #19 arrives February 18, 2026, and G.I. JOE #20 follows on March 18, 2026, available at comic shops and on major digital platforms.

Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro are shaking up the Energon Universe in a big way with two massive G.I. JOE issues arriving early next year. Writer Joshua Williamson (Duke, Superman), artist Andrea Milana (Creepshow, Cobra Commander), colorist Lee Loughridge, and letterer Rus Wooton are steering the franchise into uncharted territory with pulse-pounding storytelling you won’t want to miss. G.I. JOE #19 lands in February, with #20 following in March.

And yes—the moment fans have been waiting for is finally here. Duke and Optimus Prime are meeting face-to-face for the first time in the Energon Universe. How does it all go down? It involves Clutch, Autobot Hound, and Matt Trakker—now one of the most wanted men in America.

Issue #19 comes stacked with a main cover by Tom Reilly and a heavy-hitting lineup of variants from Joshua Cassara & Romulo Fajardo Jr., Ben Oliver, Tonči Zonjić, Trevor Hairsine & Romulo Fajardo Jr., Andy Lanning, a spoiler foil by Pye Parr, and a premium foil mask variant from John Amor and Andres Juarez.

Issue #20’s covers include another main by Reilly, open-to-order variants from Cassara and Oliver, a 1:25 incentive by Tonči Zonjić, and a 1:50 incentive by Jorge Corona.

G.I. JOE continues to be a cornerstone of the Energon Universe—the ambitious shared world that unifies TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE, and Void Rivals under one banner. Alongside flagship titles like Void Rivals by Robert Kirkman and the Eisner-winning Transformers series, each new chapter pushes the universe closer to answering the biggest mysteries linking these iconic franchises.

G.I. JOE #19 arrives February 18, 2026, and G.I. JOE #20 follows on March 18, 2026, available at comic shops and on major digital platforms.
