Marvel teases an all-new Venom twist, and a classic Spider-Man character is making a shocking comeback

This April, WEB OF VENOM #1, a one-shot by Jordan Morris, Ramon Rosanas, and Luke Ross, brings back the Red and Blue symbiote costume that recently appeared in Venom—but who’s wearing it this time?

Nodding to Spider-Man’s iconic black-suit era from the 1980s, a striking new red-and-blue Venom costume has been stirring up trouble across the Marvel Universe. The look first surfaced in Battleworld #3 with the debut of Eddie Parker from Earth-8294, before popping up again in Venom #252, where Mary Jane Watson took the suit out for a test drive as the All-New Venom. That issue also featured a backup story by Jordan Morris and Jesús Saíz that expanded on Eddie Parker’s origin story.

This strange symbiote saga is far from over. In April, it continues with WEB OF VENOM #1, a brand-new one-shot written by Morris with art by Ramon Rosanas (Star Wars: Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon) and Luke Ross (Star Wars: Legacy of Vader). The issue promises to firmly plant the red-and-blue Venom suit into Marvel canon as it’s claimed by a fan-favorite Spider-Man character.

THE EVEN ALL-ER NEW-ER VENOM?!?

A new symbiote-powered hero has emerged on Earth-616 wearing the Spidey-inspired red-and-blue look—but it’s not Mary Jane Watson, and it’s not Eddie Parker. Instead, it’s someone Peter Parker knows very well… someone both Peter and Spider-Man have crossed paths with countless times… and someone using this new web-slinging identity as a long-overdue comeback. The evolving story of the red-and-blue alien suit takes a sharp turn here, sending a classic Spider-Man character down a bold new path they have no plans to abandon.

“I had so much fun working with the symbiote office on the Eddie Parker alternate universe adventure for the historic Venom issue #252!” Morris shared. “I can’t wait to tell another story that combines the Venom goos with the reds and blues, this time in the 616!”

Hinting at what’s to come, Morris added, “I don’t want to say too much about who is in the suit this time around, but it’s a deeper cut character I’ve always had a soft spot for (and I think many faithful Marvel readers do too). I can say it’s an epic comeback (wink) that fans won’t want to miss!”

Fans can check out the main cover by Stefano Caselli, alongside a variant cover by Pere Perez and another showcasing Luciano Vecchio’s original costume design. WEB OF VENOM #1 is available for preorder now at local comic shops. For more details, visit Marvel.com.
