The Spread of Curses
Those who caught Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution in theaters last month actually watched the beginning of the upcoming third season. Everyone else can now watch those episodes when the anime based off of Gege Akutami’s manga returns.
Part one of the The Culling Game arc takes place in the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident. Following the plan of the most wicked sorcerer in history, Noritoshi Kamo, ten colonies throughout Japan are changed into dens of curses. As the titular game begins, a Special Grade sorcerer named Yuta Okkutsu is tasked with executing our hero Yuji Itadori for his perceived crimes.
The first two episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen season three release Thursday, January 8, on Crunchyroll.
A Hectic Fourth of July
The first season of The Pitt was a critical darling receiving multiple Emmy nominations including three wins. The medical drama where each episode covers an hour during a shift in the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency room is back.
Season two takes place during a very busy Fourth of July. It’s the last day of senior attending physician Dr. Robinavitch before he takes a hiatus from his job. His mind is already half checked out, but that won’t help with the number of complex emergencies coming through the door. Also, despite leaving the hospital last season, charge nurse Dana Evans and Dr. Langdon are back.
The Pitt season two premieres Thursday, January 8, on HBO Max.
Coming Together for Revenge
A Thousand Blows is inspired by true events revolving around the bare-knuckle boxing scene in 1880s East London. The story revolves around two pugilists, the new up-and-comer Hezekiah Moscow and the self-declared emperor Henry “Sugar” Goodson, and crime syndicate leader Mary Carr.
This season, Carr looks to regain her crown as queen of The Forty Elephants and retake control of the syndicate from her rival Indigo Jeremy. Her plan involves partnering with both Sugar and Moscow who have each fallen on hard times.
A Thousand Blows season two debuts Friday, January 9, on Hulu.
