The Future Foundation returns in ‘Fantastic Four’ #11

With the Invincible Woman behind them, the Fantastic Four look ahead… only to realize the future may be harder to build than it is to survive.

After facing the terrifying reality of the Invincible Woman, an alternate, darker version of Sue Storm, the Fantastic Four return home changed, determined to shape a stronger tomorrow… even if they can’t agree on what that future should look like.

On sale in May, Fantastic Four #11 from writer Ryan North and artist Patrick Boutin serves as an epilogue to the “Invincible Woman” arc (which started in issue #6!) while launching the groundwork for a bold new take on the Future Foundation. Originally introduced during Jonathan Hickman’s era, the Future Foundation was built around young minds pushing science to its limits in hopes of solving humanity’s greatest problems. Now, the Fantastic Four are ready to try again, but this time, the approach won’t look the same.

With the Invincible Woman defeated, bigger questions loom. The team is divided on what the future should be, Doom’s dangerous technology is leaking into the wider world, and small-time criminals suddenly wield power far beyond their understanding. As if that weren’t enough, an old A.I.M. scheme resurfaces, the Future Foundation officially returns, and the Fantastic Four find themselves dealing with the comeback of Crimeasaurus Rex.

“This is our first really big story in the run,” North said. “Bringing a story like that in for a landing is really satisfying. I think it leaves Sue in a really interesting place… and what they land on with the Future Foundation is exciting.”

The issue also features a special bonus story by Stan Sakai, as the Usagi Yojimbo creator delivers a standout Fantastic Four vs. Mole Man showdown.

Fantastic Four #11 arrives with a main cover by Humberto Ramos, a foil variant by Ben Su, and additional variants from Simone Bianchi, Andrea Sorrentino, and Rickie Yagawa, as Marvel’s First Family steps into a future full of possibility—and disagreement.
