‘Head Lopper’ returns: Andrew MacLean gears cult-favorite for a 10-year anniversary relaunch

A decade later, Norgal and Agatha are back and they’re bloodier, bolder, and ready for their next legendary hunt.

Fans of Head Lopper have a big reason to celebrate this spring, as Andrew MacLean returns to his fan-favorite fantasy series with a brand-new story arc from Image Comics. The ongoing series relaunches in April with an oversized first issue, timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of Head Lopper’s debut.

MacLean’s signature blend of explosive action and razor-sharp humor takes center stage in Head Lopper (2026) #1. Readers will once again follow Norgal as he cleaves his way through legendary monsters, joined by his ever-talkative, severed witch-head companion Agatha, whose biting commentary is as constant as the bloodshed. The result is bold, high-fantasy spectacle that leans into the series’ unique charm and visual energy.

“Narschlahn is calling me back! It’s been a decade of Head Lopper, and yet the world feels more alive with every stroke of the pen,” said MacLean. “Huge thanks to Image Comics for their incredible support of this relaunch. This new chapter is the perfect entry point for new readers, while rewarding longtime fans with a story that picks up right after the original series’ finale.”
