Unredacted ‘Absolute Batman’ #18 cover hints at a major new threat in the Absolute Universe

The Absolute Universe just got bigger as the unredacted ‘Absolute Batman’ #18 cover teases a new villain entering the narrative.

Absolute Batman has to be the most talked about and highest-selling comic in years, and just yesterday, Lunar revealed the unredacted cover art for Absolute Batman #18. The cover wasn’t even sent in the February solicitations, thus it’s a big deal it has made it sway to fans eyesockets.

The cover reveal came a week earlier than Scott Snyder wanted, giving readers new details before next week’s Poison Ivy confrontation in Absolute Batman #17.

Warning: Spoilers below for Absolute Batman!

The biggest reveal on the cover is the Court of Owls on the left side, an organization that has not yet been revealed in the Absolute Universe. Considering they are wearing flannel, could these Court of Owls be a different social class? It’s one theory circulating on social media.

Also revealed is Poison Ivy at the top center of the cover, with a twisted body-horror eye, complete with a venusflytrap hoodie.

Last but not least, on the right side of the cover, we see possible Poison Ivy-created creatures.

While the inclusion of the Court of Owls isn’t a huge surprise, it is a creation by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, it is exciting to know the Absolute Batman universe is expanding.
