Jeff the Land Shark’s rise to fame has caught the attention of one of Marvel’s most chaotic showrunners. The fan-favorite hero is now in the crosshairs of Mojo, the interdimensional TV tyrant, in Jeff the Land Shark: Superstar, a new limited series from Kelly Thompson and Tokitokoro.
The series brings back the creative team behind Jeff’s earlier adventures and throws him into his biggest spotlight yet. Joining him is Ken the Septapus, who first appeared in last year’s Jeff Week Infinity Comic. The duo will also encounter a bizarre lineup of X-Men characters created by Mojo, each designed to boost ratings in his latest over-the-top production.
Jeff’s popularity has surged in recent years, fueled by appearances in comics like the Eisner Award-winning It’s Jeff Infinity Comic and his breakout presence in Marvel Rivals. Now, he takes center stage in a story that will be available both on Marvel Unlimited and in comic shops, making it accessible for longtime readers and newcomers alike.
The story kicks off with Mojo abducting Jeff and Ken to star in a dangerous new program that throws the Marvel Universe into chaos. As the stakes rise, readers will meet a strange new cast of X-Men, including Dazzle Storm, Magikhot, Wolverine-Man, Rambit, and more.
“Jeff’s second ever mini-series Superstar will find Jeff becoming an intergalactic celebrity, but at what cost?” Thompson said. “Chaos ensues as we mash together classic allies, old enemies, new friends, and heroic acts for a galaxy-spanning adventure.”
Marvel also shared an early look at Gurihiru’s cover and Tokitokoro’s character designs, with more reveals planned in the coming weeks, including additional members of Mojo’s twisted X-Men lineup and variant covers.
