Marvel has unveiled two of the original characters set to debut in Reborn: Ultimate Impact, the upcoming five-issue series from Chris Condon and Stefano Caselli.
The hook is simple and loaded with potential. Origin Boxes recovered from the Ultimate Universe are now creating entirely new heroes and villains in Earth-616.
In the new cover art, we’ve got a look at Mogul and a character named Sightseer, who has a very Ms. Marvel vibe with the colors and robe style. She also clearly has magical powers, entering some kind of Steve Ditko magical realm. With Mogul, the chest crystal is giving demonic vibes.
Leading the charge are a reimagined Wonder Man, sporting a sharp new look complete with red shades, and Hostilicus, dubbed the “Scourge of the Negative Zone.” The latter leans hard into cosmic menace, even wearing the severed head of Annihilus as armor. It is a striking visual that signals exactly how intense this new threat could be.
Condon emphasized just how much creative freedom the project offers, and how central that is to the book’s appeal and speaking to Marvel:
“To be able to play with the idea of these universes colliding in a truly unique and interesting way like this… and to have the opportunity to create new and lasting creations within them… is a dream for any creator in this industry.”
He also pointed to the collaborative energy behind the series, highlighting both Caselli and editor Tom Groneman as key to shaping the book:
“I’m having so much fun working on this book… I hope that shines through when readers pick up their copies of what I think will be an exciting new piece of the Marvel Universe.”
Reborn: Ultimate Impact spins directly out of the Ultimate Universe’s collapse, using the Origin Boxes as a catalyst to introduce an entirely new wave of characters. Marvel confirmed each debut will be spotlighted with First Appearance variant covers for issue #1, positioning the series as both a continuation and a launchpad.
