Death Spiral reaches its final turn next week, and AIPT has an exclusive preview of The Amazing Spider-Man #27, the conclusion that promises to push Peter Parker further than he’s willing to go.
Written by Joe Kelly with art from Carlos Gomez, Francesco Manna, and Ed McGuinness, the issue closes out a brutal arc centered on Torment, a killer whose rules have left a trail of bodies tied together by connection rather than chance.
The stakes are clear heading into this final chapter. That tension has been building across the event, and this issue looks ready to cash it in with Death Spiral part 9…of 9!
The preview pages reveal that Spider-Man’s personality is lost in the Carnage symbiote, getting sucked down. Oh, and the aunts? They’re still in danger!
Torment remains a standout presence, both for how he operates and for what he represents within the story. His methods have been slowly revealed over the course of Death Spiral, and this final issue appears ready to test those rules in a way that could reshape the outcome.
If you have been following along, you already know this arc has been about more than just stopping a villain. It has been about pressure, loss, and how far someone will go when pushed hard enough. This finale puts all of that front and center.
And if you want even more insight into how this all comes together, do not miss the latest edition of Venom Unleashed. The Spider-Man and Venom teams have been breaking down Torment’s logic, the idea of connection, and where key characters stand as everything falls apart. It adds another layer to what you are seeing on the page here and is well worth checking out before diving into the finale.
The Amazing Spider-Man #27 hits comic shops on April 22.
