The war for the throne is getting a heavy metal upgrade. As the cosmic clash between Knull and Hela looms in the upcoming Queen in Black crossover event, Marvel has revealed a new line of Knullbuster Variant Covers arriving this July from artists Clayton Crain, Luciano Vecchio, Zulema Scotto Lavina, David Baldeón, and Gurihiru.
While the core event by Al Ewing and Iban Coello pits the King in Black against the Queen of Hel, Earth’s heroes aren’t just sitting on the sidelines. These five variant covers reimagine fan-favorite characters in high-tech, cosmically enhanced “Knullbuster” armor specifically designed to take down symbiote gods.
Queen in Black, a new crossover event from Al Ewing and Iban Coello, launches this July. Knull and Hela’s conflict erupts across the cosmos, coming to a head on Earth where Marvel’s heroes are all that stand in the way of the world being torn asunder by the forces of Light and Dark, both bent on enveloping the universe in their own brand of nothingness. In addition to the core series, the saga will be told across recently announced tie-in series including Queen in Black: Defenders of Light and Dark where Iron Man debuts his own Knullbuster suit—the Black Metal Armor!
