‘X-Men ’97’ season 2 trailer: We’re back, baby!

X-Men ’97 returns for its second season on July 1.

When we last left X-Men ’97, the group wasn’t in a good place. They were still mourning a loss of a beloved teammate when they were split up and sent to different eras in time. We’ll soon see what happens next when the animated series returns for its second season on July 1, 2026.

Along with the announcement of the season two premiere, Marvel Entertainment released a new trailer. Apocalypse looks to be a main antagonist considering his life spans multiple generations. The story follows the X-Men’s struggles to return home to their proper time period. Also, since they are absent in their present, villains look to exploit the situation while more anti-mutant hate begins to spread.

X-Men ’97 season two will comprise of nine episodes. The show stars Ross Marquand as Professor X, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Lenore Zann as Rogue, and George Buza as Beast.

It is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Julia Lewald, Eric Lewald, Larry Houston, and Beau DeMayo. Jake Castorena serves as supervising producer with episodes written by JB Ballard, Beau DeMayo, Bailey Moore, Antony Sellitti, Brian Ford Sullivan, and Mariah Wilson. Emmett Yonemura and Chase Conley are the episodic directors.
