Summit Comics has launched the Kickstarter campaign for The Twin Flames #1, the first solo series starring one of the Summit Universe’s hero duos. AIPT can exclusively reveal the Brian Wolf cover, the Jordi Perez cover, and interior pages from the upcoming issue.
Written by Summit Comics Group Editor J. Michael Miller (Kid Cretaceous, The Healer’s Blade) and illustrated by Rom Silva, the series follows Soraya and Nico, two heroes whose lives changed forever when they received nearly identical fire-based powers from a mysterious source. Their story continues directly from Summit: Pinnacle #1, expanding the shared universe introduced through the publisher’s successful 2026 Kickstarter debut.
Drawing inspiration from both romance and superhero storytelling, Miller sees The Twin Flames as a deeply personal project.
“I’m going to ask a dumb question. Have you seen The Notebook? Most people have. It’s a story about a husband reading to his wife their real life love story to help her remember him. Romance and superheroes have been at my core for longer than I can remember,” Miller said.
He continued:
“Whether it was watching all of the superhero Saturday morning cartoons, finding my first comic shop in middle school, or hiding my heroic motivations behind a mask. Well, this is what I want my wife to read to me when my mind starts to slip. I know that The Twin Flames could help reignite my love and passion beyond the grave.”
Beyond the main feature, The Twin Flames #1 includes two backup stories from an impressive lineup of creators. One comes from Eisner Award-nominated Wonder Woman writer Stephanie Williams, with artwork by Marcus Jimenez. The second backup is created by writer Nate Schachter and artist Ignacio Di Meglio.
Miller explained how Williams became involved with the project:
“Last fall, I stepped away from my table at Boise Comic Arts Festival to attend a panel with Stephanie Williams and two other publishers. I’m beyond excited we were able to talk about Summit Comics afterward and that I was able to invite her to join this incredible cast of talent and craft such an emotionally resonant and powerful story after the main fanfare ends.”
The Kickstarter campaign offers multiple cover options for collectors, including artwork by Marcus Jimenez, Brian Wolf, Jordi Perez, and other creators. Funds raised will support the book’s print run, with the campaign running through early July.
Since launching with Summit: Pinnacle #1, Summit Comics has steadily expanded its creator-owned superhero universe, earning attention from readers and media outlets alike. With The Twin Flames #1, the publisher is building on that momentum while giving two breakout characters a chance to headline their own adventure.
