The Ten Rings of Power are making their way back to Earth, and Marvel is putting Sam Alexander at the center of the action in Nova: Return of the Rings #1, a new Marvel’s Voices one-shot arriving this October in celebration of Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month.
Written by Josh Trujillo (Planet of the Apes vs. Fantastic Four) with artwork by Rafael Loureiro (Dazzler), the issue launches a new storyline centered on the legendary Rings. The one-shot also features a backup story by Juan Ponce and Andy Pereira that explores Sam’s life away from cosmic battles as he balances superhero responsibilities with his family.
The Ten Rings are loose once again
Previously launched into deep space because they were considered too dangerous to remain on Earth, the Ten Rings have escaped containment. One Ring has now found a new bearer determined to claim the sentient supercomputer Worldmind as the first step in a campaign of galactic conquest.
Standing in the villain’s way is Sam Alexander, who finds himself pulled into a conflict that could have lasting consequences for the Marvel Universe.
“It’s such a thrill to write for one of Marvel’s biggest teen heroes!” Trujillo said. “With so many memorable stories behind him, Sam Alexander is uniquely qualified to take on this threat! This is a high-stakes adventure with a fierce villain, and huge consequences for the entire Marvel Universe. To save the day, Sam will be drawing inspiration from his fellow heroes, and also his familial roots.”
Trujillo added that he hopes the issue introduces even more readers to Nova.

Marvel also unveiled the main cover by Humberto Ramos, with Nova: Return of the Rings #1 available to preorder now ahead of its October release.
