The world of Minor Threats is getting a little dirtier this November as Dark Horse Comics launches Minor Threats: The Cleaner, a new four-issue noir miniseries starring one of Twilight City’s most intriguing supporting characters.
Written by Gerry Duggan, Patton Oswalt, and Jordan Blum, with Mark Torres handling art, colors, and design, the series shines a spotlight on The Cleaner, who first debuted in From the World of Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight. The book is lettered by Nate Piekos, while the debut issue features covers by Scott Hepburn, Mark Torres, Subversive Girl, Declan Shalvey, and Jae Lee.
The series follows David O’Halloran, a struggling small business owner by day and the superhero community’s go-to cleanup specialist by night. When battles between heroes and villains leave behind evidence too dangerous to surface, The Cleaner is the one who makes it disappear.
His carefully compartmentalized life begins to unravel after crossing paths with the deadly Diamond Dahlia, whose hidden connection to the legendary vigilante The Insomniac threatens to drag David into a much larger conflict.
“When Gerry and Mark introduced The Cleaner in Welcome To Twilight, we knew there were more bodies buried in that fertile ground,” said co-writer Jordan Blum. “Along with those rotting heroes and villains was a deeply human, personal, twisted, pulpy, gorgeous story that Gerry and Mark Torres needed their own series to tell.
