Sony and Mattel tap ‘Men in Black’ writers for ‘Masters of the Universe’ Reboot

By the power of Grayskull this film is rebooted!

Sony Pictures and Mattel Films may have finally found the Power of Grayskull in writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. The pair have been tapped to write the script for the studio’s long awaited joint project of a rebooted Masters of the Universe film.

Marcum and Holloway are perhaps best known for penning Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight, but have gained recognition more recently by helping Columbia Pictures dig Men in Black: International out of a production hole and put together a script that helped get the project greenlit.

Working with the two writers will be the sibling director team of Aaron and Adam Nee. The Nee brothers were previously co-writing the script with David S. Goyer, who was also the films director, but after Goyer dropped out of the project, the Nee brothers were moved over to directing.

A reboot for the film was first mentioned back in 2007 with John Woo reportedly directing, yet since that initial report the project has gone threw a slew of different writers and directors. Hopefully Sony and Mattel have finally found the right creative team to bring the project to the finish line.
