31 Days of Halloween

Adventures in Movies! Episode 40: Alexandre Philippe Interview & Sci Fi Horror

A talk about arguably the best horror sub genre.

Welcome to today’s installment of 31 Days of Halloween! This is our chance to set the mood for the spookiest and scariest month of the year as we focus our attention on horror and Halloween fun. For the month of October we’ll be talking to creators working in horror and share and recommend various pieces of underappreciated scary media-books, comics, movies, and television-to help keep you terrified and entertained all the way up to Halloween.

It was good while it lasted. The boys finally do a 31 Days of Halloween episode together and Blake decides he has had enough after one episode. Danny and Nathaniel end this year’s Halloween themed podcasts with a discussion on sci fi horror. There are a lot of horror sub genres. Is this one the best?

Plus, an interview with Alexandre Philippe, director of Memory: The Origins of Alien

The OG AiM! crew jump right into sci fi with a talk about the greatest space saga of all time. Did Danny finally follow through and watch a trailer? Nathaniel definitely did as he recounts in a pitiful tale. How excited are the two for The Rise of Skywalker? Did they even get their tickets?

Philippe has a place in Star Wars history, having directed The People vs. George Lucas. His latest documentary is a deep dive into one of the most iconic scenes in sci fi horror history. He talks with Nathaniel about the importance of the chestburster scene and Alien.

Sci fi horror is a popular genre. Danny and Nathaniel talk about some of their favorites and why it is so popular. The two also try to figure out if Jason X is sci fi horror.
