This week’s Raw draws historic low viewership

WWE went up against Monday Night Football and lost by a lot.

Monday night’s WWE Raw episode, which was pre-taped in Manchester England, went up against Monday Night Football and lost. And boy, they lost hard.

This is a critical time for WWE as the company is hard at work building anticipation for its upcoming pay-per-view, Survivor Series. There’s also a little thing called the Wednesday Night Wars, where NXT competes against AEW for viewership dominance during the hours of 8-10pm every Wednesday evening. As if that wasn’t enough pressure, the company also has to please their new landlords at FOX Media Company, where Smackdown moved to every Friday night.

Unfortunately for Raw, the show’s viewership numbers continue to drop. According to Showbuzz Daily the main event of Raw featuring The OC vs. Randy Orton, Ricochet, and Humberto Carrillo, drew an average of 2.059 million viewers.

This is a 3.6% drop from last week’s post-Crown Jewel episode which pulled in 2.136 million viewers, and was subsequently the lowest non-holiday Raw viewership in modern history. Ouch.

The hourly breakdown is as follows:

8 pm: 2,358,000
9 pm: 2,063,000
10 pm: 1,753,000

The final hour of Raw was a jaw dropping 26% drop from the first hour.

Raw’s year-to-date rankings:

3.093 million – July 22, 2019 High

2.057 million – November 12, 2019 Low

This is the lowest third hour viewership of all-time, including holiday episodes. It is also the biggest hour one to hour three drop in the Raw’s history. Definitely not a good sign for WWE at a critical time in the company’s history.
