Top Chef Season 17 Power Rankings: Week 1

Gregory moves into the top spot, Jamie is the biggest riser and Joe plunges.

The first episode of Top Chef aired last Thursday on Bravo. The quickfire challenge was a mise en place race that consisted of three rounds. Contestants had to turn three artichokes, supreme five oranges and crack 20 perfect almonds. The first five finishers in each round would form a team and head off to cook using the ingredients they prepared. There would only be fifteen minutes to cook once the last team entered the kitchen so the first team would have an inherent advantage. The elimination challenge saw the contestants divided into groups again where they were to create a seafood feast only using an open fire and their knives.

Let’s take a look at how everyone did and how that influenced their Power Ranking after Week One. Gregory took the top spot; Jamie was the biggest riser and Joe had the largest fall. That’s what happens when you’re the first one eliminated.
