Robert Downey Jr. shares excitement in producing ‘Sweet Tooth’ at Netflix

Robert Downey Jr. shifts from hyping Marvel movies to Vertigo projects with Sweet Tooth excitement.

Jeff Lemire is having quite a good May and now there’s fantastic Sweet Tooth news to glow over too. Just last week he Kickstarted a comic book project he’s collaborating with Matt Kindt and David Rubin on and today his Sweet Tooth television project has some good news too. We already knew a Sweet Tooth television show was in the works. Nearly two years ago Jeff Lemire had the exciting news Sweet Tooth was soon to be a Hulu television show. That plan has changed as Robert Downey Jr. revealed the show is now being produced at Netflix.

The news comes with some sweet new art that suits the vibe of the series. The series originally published at Vertigo–a publisher now retired–from 2009 through 2013 for 40 issues. Though Vertigo is now shuttered one might hope they slap the logo on the production as it follows the five-season run of iZombie, Lucifer, and AMC’s Preacher.

Sweet Tooth moving to Netflix isn’t totally new news

The news comes with some expectation after Daniel RPK revealed on his Patreon that Sweet Tooth has moved to Netflix back in April. Regardless, knowing how often Netflix gets projects off the ground and made this is fabulous news.

Are you excited about the Sweet Tooth original series? Sound off in the comments.
