X of Swords is back on for September and newly revealed art shared by C.B. Cebulski

X of Swords gets new release date and cover art.

When Marvel Comics revealed their release schedule many lamented the lack of X-Men event X of Swords. It’s an event even the Hollywood Reporter was talking about. The event was originally set for a July release, but today Marvel Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski has let it be known the event is back on for September. Check out the tweet below which features some awesome cover art.

Not only does this image give us a little more detail on what is to come, but it’s a fabulous piece of art by Pepe Larraz and colors by Marte Gracia. Fans should note a few things right off the bat like Apocalypse being front and center, some Egyptian looking baddies in the red clouds, and Cable, Beast, and some other fan-favorite mutants backing up the once bringer of doomsday turned hero Apocalypse! The art also features a title X of Swords: Creation which may or may not be the event title.

Check out the Mark Brooks art that accompanied the X of Swords announcement back at C2E2 in February.

With the event shifting two months many can expect more news to come as far as how other X-Men books shifted like Children of the Atom and X-Factor very soon.
