Community Review: Season 5 Episode 6 “Analysis of Cork-Based Networking”

Episode six; let’s take a look at “Analysis of Cork-Based Networking.”

Nathan Fillion guest stars, which is hilarious, as there was already a Chang line last episode about how he was his “same-sex celebrity crush.” Also, Robert Patrick has a cameo. Oh, Community.

It’s nice to know that the show can still exist without Troy and Pierce and be just as entertaining

This episode was directed by… Jesus, really, again, no one as of this time on IMDB. In any case, it was written by Monica Padrick (Get your shit together, IMDB).

A fun look at how corrupt and tortoise-like the system of Greendale is, as well as an episode where we get to see the newly formed Save Greendale Committee. Professor Buzz Hickey (Jonathan Banks), and Annie (Alison Brie) team up to get a cork board up, and the rest of the group attempts to decorate for the mid term dance. Oh, and Abed (Danny Pudi) is desperately trying to avoid spoilers for an obvious nod to a Game of Thrones type show, from Britta (Gillian Jacobs).

Is It Good?

It’s a solid episode. Even with Troy and Pierce gone, it’s nice to know that the show still can exist and be just as entertaining. My guess is Abed is going to start dating the coat check girl, Rachel (Brie Larson), whom he met a few seasons back that he meets up with again at the end of this episode.

Long story short, give it a watch, laugh at the fat dog and references to Labyrinth. It’s pretty standard and doesn’t break any new ground, but it’s a fun twenty minutes even if it does simply seem to be going through the motions yet again.
