Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort was joined virtually by writers Dan Slott and Al Ewing in Marvel’s Next Big Thing panel, where they talked about Empyre and how the event intersects with their books (Fantastic Four and Immortal Hulk, respectively).
When it comes to Immortal Hulk, Brevoort asked Ewing what he can tell readers about Immortal She-Hulk and how it relates to Empyre. Ewing had the following to say:
Well, as Immortal Hulk readers know, as we intersect with the rest of the Marvel universe and sort of touch on it, it’s usually in the form of these big 30 page specials. So readers can have a little something extra, and sort of see the story that we’re telling in the main Hulk book interacts with the rest of the Marvel universe, and this is one of those.
This is basically, “How does all of the stuff we’ve been doing in Immortal Hulk — the nature of gamma radiation, the green door, all the stuff with the Below Place — how does all that tie into Jennifer Walters? What’s Jennifer Walters’ experience with that? How does what she goes through in Empyre tie in? By the end of Empyre, readers are gonna have a few questions. This book is gonna have the answers to the questions they will have. I can’t tell you what those questions are gonna be yet, but you will have them.
Of course, readers will be getting plenty of Jennifer Walters in The Immortal She-Hulk, which will tie into Fantastic Avengers/Fantastic Four: Empyre, starting September 23 from Ewing and artist Jon Davis-Hunt.
