[SXSW ’21] Hulu’s ‘Sasquatch’ expands on true crime genre

Three part series coming to SXSW.

Sasquatch is a series coming to Hulu that is unlike any other true crime doc out there. The series follows investigative journalist David Holthouse. In the 1990s, he was working when three people were violently killed. Even though there were witnesses, no one was ever arrested. But how do the authorities follow normal procedures when the killer is supposedly Bigfoot?

Twenty-five years after the murders occurred, Holthouse goes back to the scene of the crime to piece together what happened. He is looking for any clues that can help him figure out what happened that night. Over the course of the three episodes, what he discovers will surprise and frighten viewers.

True crime and urban legends are no stranger to each other. Sasquatch puts the two together in a way that is clever and engaging. The three episode series explores isolation, dark secrets, and of course, the most famous creature in American folklore.

SXSW is March 16 – March 20. Tickets and a full lineup can be found here.
