AIPT Comics podcast episode 132: Steve Orlando on launching YA series, new Marvel, and more

Join the AIPT Comics podcast for a recap of the week in comics news, reviews, and more! This week writer Steve Orlando joins the show for the third time to discuss his new series Starward at Heavy Metal Magazine. The third chapter appears in next week’s Heavy Metal Magazine in a planned 11 chapter series. We also discuss his other YA book Rainbow Bridge, his various indie comics work, the upcoming IDW Transformers series King Grimlock, next week’s Extreme Carnage: Phage, and more!

Before the interview, we recap the biggest news of the week. The week started with the tragic news that DC Comics artist Robson Rocha has passed away. It rocked creators who shared their thoughts on Rocha last Sunday.

Skybound hosted their July 17-18 Xpo II convention which featured Rob Liefeld and Robert Kirkman in a conversation and AfterShock Comics announced their 100th comic title ‘Campisi: The Dragon Incident. Plus, the Harvey Awards were announced!

In a treasure trove of news, DC Comics released their solicitations for October 2020 which featured, Batman: The Imposter, Soul Plumber, their plans for Wonder Woman with new and free series, Catwoman: Lonely City, and announced DC vs. Vampires & Task Force Z.
