Nightwing #89
A beautiful issue that shows the DC Universe is moving forward while embracing legacy and tradition. After this issue, I can see Dick Grayson and Jon Kent as the World’s Finest, and this perfectly sets them up as respected leaders for the impending darkness that will attack the DCU.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #8
It’s not easy ending stories, which is probably why so many continue on as if the adventure may never end. Here though, King and Evely have captured the essence of a life well lived, and how we can become blinded by things that don’t actually matter in the grand scheme of things. This issue delivers a satisfactory resolution while adding to both Ruthye and Supergirl’s journeys. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow shows how a life well lived is itself justice in the face of the injustices we experience.

Transformers #40
The artwork is as stellar as ever, the characters are engaging and likable, and the plot is some classic Autobots vs. Decepticons goodness. The shadow of this series’ inevitable end still hangs overhead, but don’t let that stop you from picking this comic up if you think you’ll like it. I’m sure the people involved would love to feel supported in light of everything.

Hulk #4
Hulk #4 is a comic about emotion, action, and big beats. It has those in droves while also subtly building up the fact that Hulk is as important as any Marvel character as he leads the charge in the development of so much in the Marvel universe.

Detective Comics #1053
An issue that advances things quick and effectively while remaining entertaining, and sticking to the “detective” part of the title very well. Just seeing the characters we all love to read being themselves with some action and drama to keep things spicy. The art is great of course, and the plot really feels like it’s starting to rev up to its climax.
