We’re bringing you some great television this week with our Channel Surfing TV picks. The MCU receives a new addition with Moon Knight. Community service was never like this in the The Outlaws. Then spies work their way out of administrative hell with a new case in Slow Horses.
Who Am I?
When the MCU made its way to television through Disney+, these series were a way to further develop some of the characters that didn’t receive as much screen time in the films. Another intention was to introduce and feature entirely new heroes into this world. Cue Moon Knight.
The show is centered on an unassuming gentleman named Steven Grant who suffers from unexplained blackouts and memories of different lives outside his own. He soon discovers that he has Dissociative Identity Disorder and shares a body with a former mercenary named Marc Spector who is the avatar of the Egyptian god of moon and vengeance, Konshu. These different personalities must learn to work together to navigate a war between the powerful gods of Egypt.
Moon Knight premieres Wednesday, March 30, on Disney+.
Trying to Stay Out of Trouble
Stephen Merchant was the co-creator of the British version of The Office. His latest project is the dramedy, The Outlaws, which originally aired in the UK last year. Now, international audiences will have the chance to watch the six-episode series this week.
It is about a group of seven strangers from all walks of life who are forced together to perform community service. During one of their jobs, they discover a bag filled with cash and the potential to turn their lives around. However, things become more complicated when some very dangerous people come looking for their missing bag.
The Outlaws will premiere Friday, April 1, on Prime Video.
A Second Chance
Novelist, Mike Herron, has written a spy series of books entitled Slough House that includes almost a dozen stories. The first in the series, Slow Horses, has been adapted into its very own television show set to debut this week.
It follows several MI5 agents who have been exiled to an unexciting department because of various mistakes they made out in the field. Just because they are in an administrative purgatory doesn’t mean they still can’t be effective. Lead by the gifted but hot-tempered Jackson Lamb, they traverse the espionage world in order to protect England from ominous threats.
The first to episodes of Slow Horses will be released Friday, April 1, on Apple TV+.
