Leah Williams dishes ‘X-Terminators’ details on House of X podcast

Leah Williams shared who the ‘X-Terminators’ villains would be, read dialogue, and more!

Leah Williams was a recent guest on the House of X Podcast where she gave exclusive information about her upcoming explosive limited series, X-Terminators. The 1 hour and seven-minute interview hosted by Dylan & Regina goes into detail on what readers can expect from the grind house-influenced series that carries a Parental Advisory Warning about a hardcore, neon-fueled, down and dirty type of adventure unlike any seen before in X-Men history.  X-Terminators is written by Williams and drawn by Carlos Gómez.

Here’s a rundown of what we learned:

The villains will be vampires

New details on Leah Williams' Upcoming 'X-Terminators'

Williams mentions many times that the leading ladies of Dazzler, Jubilee, Boom Boom, and Wolverine (Laura) will be battling armies of vampires. This allowed Williams to explore the effect of Dazzler’s photosynthetic powers against enemies who don’t necessarily care for sunlight. We also assume the decimation of armies of vampires will be brutal with Jubilee and Boom Boom blowing them up at every turn and Wolverine slashing her way through the bodies.

This is a Dazzler-focused book

New details on Leah Williams' Upcoming 'X-Terminators'

Dazzler fans can finally expect a series centered around their favorite mutant pop star. Williams expressed how Dazzler is the focus of the book and how the entire limited series launched with her infamous message to Jonathan Hickman about Alison Blaire’s derriere.

After a few background appearances on Krakoa and a few dialog scenes with Dr. Nemesis in Way of X, Dazzler will finally have her spotlight in the modern era of X-Men comics.

The dialog is hilarious

Starting out the gate with quotes from the opening page of X-Terminators #1 – Leah, Regina, and Dylan recite the script penned by Williams. Here are two lines:

“You should have told me the dress code was depression.”

“You look like Glinda the Good Witch’s porn parody.”

More is revealed with the caveat that the final edits are still being done, so it was unclear if the dialog will appear as exactly heard within the podcast episode.

Expect lots of skin

Frequently, Leah Williams is heard talking about the sexiness and gore of the series. She reveals that the ladies will reveal more and more skin as the series progresses, and she emphasized that the series is influenced by true grindhouse cinema.

Definition of Grind House: an often shabby movie theater having continuous showings, especially of pornographic or violent films.

Needless to say, we at AIPT cannot wait to see X-Terminators debut this July! For even more X-Men content, don’t forget to check out the X-Reads podcast and our weekly column X-Men Monday.
