Neal Adams, one of the most influential comic book artists of all time who has been enshrined in multiple halls of fame for his work spanning over 60 years, has died of complications from sepsis, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 80 years old.
Adams co-created several classic Batman rogues, such as Man-Bat, Jon Stewart, and Ra’s al Ghul. He was known for his photorealistic style that helped usher in a more grounded era for comic books.
Major names in the comic book industry took to Twitter to express their condolences and share memories of Adams.
Neal Adams, one of my comic book heroes, just passed away.
This great man changed the industry in so many ways, all of them for the better.
Personally, he's always been kind, giving, and always had a piece of advice for me every time I saw him.
I will miss him dearly.
