Comic artist Tim Sale passes away at 66

The Eisner-award winning artist was best known for his work on Batman, notably ‘The Long Halloween’.

Legendary comic book artist Tim Sale has passed away at the age of 66, his Twitter account confirmed this afternoon.

DC Comics publisher Jim Lee tweeted a few days ago that Sale had been admitted to the hospital with “severe health issues“. Unfortunately, it appears those issues were unable to be solved.

Tim Sale, an Eisner award-winning artist, is best known for his work on Batman, especially the iconic The Long Halloween series alongside longtime collaborator Jeph Loeb. Sale also worked with Marvel comics, pencilling the likes of Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Captain America and other staple characters over his long career.

Members of the comic book community have sent their condolences to Sale’s family and friends on Twitter.
