The 101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments of All Time started off with a bang as it included some of the most iconic scary flicks of all time. The first eleven movies was filled with well known names such as Tobe Hooper, Mario Bava, and Alfred Hitchcock. This does not mean there is nothing for the rest of the series as episode two immediately shows.
The episode starts off with one of horror’s most talked about directors and what is arguably his most polarizing film. It is a great beginning since it will be instantly familiar to most watching and it will immediately spark conversation. The whole purpose of any countdown is to promote conversation, and this entry definitely will do the trick. The interviews during the segment are also very interesting.
After the first two episodes, it is clear how all encompassing The 101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments of All Time is going to be. Each installment has contained films from different eras and countries. It is a wonderful primer for those new to the genre while also serving as a window to viewing horror in other parts of the world. And for those worried the top part of the countdown will suffer from recency bias while the classics will be shuffled down, the first two movies discussed in the episode were made in the last seven years.
Italian horror is arguably the standout of the second part. While there are only two movies that are mentioned, they are two of the most popular. What many consider the greatest eye trauma scene ever is shown along with a cult favorite. They are some of the most fun parts of The 101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments of All Time. The series continues to do a great job of showing as terrifying as horror movies can by, they are also a lot of fun.
