During Disney’s D23 Expo this past weekend, some long-awaited news on Star Wars’ most underrated animated series was finally revealed.
Dave Filoni announced season two of Star Wars: The Bad Batch has been pushed back from September 28, 2022 to January 4, 2023. Just like the previous season, this one will also be sixteen episodes and kick off with a two-episode debut.

On one hand, it’s disappointing to learn that we have to wait three more months for the show to return. On the other, there’s still plenty of Star Wars content to keep us occupied until then.
The first season of Andor will consist of 12 episodes running from September 21 until November 23 (with a three-episode premiere). During that time, we’ll also get all six episodes of the anthology series Tales of the Jedi on October 26. That leaves us only six weeks that we have to survive without any new Star Wars content. For old fans of the franchise like myself, this is a walk in the park compared to how things were before.
The time gap also gives everyone plenty of time to rewatch season one and refine our speculation about the awful things the Empire is going to make Nala Se do for them…or continue freaking out over Cody’s imminent return.
